Itinerary

Meskendir Valley (4.400m Trek)

Our first destination is the Meskendir Valley where we will embark on a short trek through its magnificent landscape. Situated near Ortahisar, it stretches 440 metres and contains the famous Meskendir Church. We will explore its interior, beautifully adorned in geometric red embellishments and witness the Chapel ceiling which has been engraved with a large cross.

Rose Valley

It has beautiful rock formations with some great hidden rock carved churches. The most interesting part of this area is the countless tracks connecting the small villages and towns through vineyards and gardens like a spider net. The Rose Valley is an isolated valley behind Urgup. It is always possible to see villagers working in the area and offering grapes, apples or apricots to you.

Red Valley

It has beautiful rock formations with some great hidden rock carved churches. The most interesting part of this area is the countless tracks connecting the small villages and towns through vineyards and gardens like a spider net. The Rose Valley is an isolated valley behind Urgup.

Cavusin Valley

We will then explore Cavusin Village, one of the oldest villages in the region and known for its cave houses which are a labyrinth of ruins chiselled into the rock face. The village is also home to the Church of John the Baptist which dates back to the 5th Century and is the biggest cave church in all of Cappadocia.

Underground City

Of the 36 underground cities built by the Christians to escape persecution, this is the widest and most famous and no tour of Cappadocia is complete without a visit here. It is divided into 8 different levels, 4 of which you can explore, including its fascinating network of wineries, kitchens and living areas.

Pigeon Valley

On the outskirts of Goreme we will stop and take in the views down to Pigeon Valley, so called from the ancient pigeon houses carved into the cliff faces over centuries. Farmers throughout the region once farmed pigeon manure as a rich source of fertilizer for their crops.

Uchisar Castle Panaroma

Our final stop is in the troglodyte town of Uchisar, situated in the heart of Cappadoccia. It is named after the enormous rock which stands in the centre of town and once served as its castle. It is the highest peak in the area and offers spectacular views across Cappadocia and Erciyes Mountain.

Love Valley

The huge phallic formations that have been naturally formed by erosion of the volcanic rock approximately 9 to 3 million years ago. Some are up to 40 metres high. An unusual landscape of cones, pillars, pinnacles, mushrooms, and 'fairy tale chimneys'
