Turkey is quite picturesque with each corner of it but there certainly are more interesting places to shoot among the others. We will have a look at the suggestions for the Instagrammers to make the most of it during their journey. Not only the Instagrammers but also social media platforms such as YouTube and Tiktok also are other alternative platforms to share these fabulous photos and get more interactions and more followers.
1. Hagia Sophia
Hagia Sophia is one of the most popular tourist places in the Istanbul, as well as one of the top instagrammable places in Istanbul. Hagia Sophia is a former church and museum and declared as one of the world’s greatest architectural works and accepted as the 8th wonder of the world.
You can snap variety of great Instagram photos from both at the exterior and interior. It will be like stepping into the holy world of Christianity and Islam, merged on the shell-like apse and under an impressive dome, in a mysterious and mystical ambiance, and a wide range of architectural and art works coming from thousands of years.
2. Topkapi Palace
Topkapi Palace for centuries was the home to Sultan kings, a centre of art and education and a political centre of the Empire.
Nowadays, it’s one of the best Instagram spots in Istanbul which is wall to wall Instagram gold.
Top tip: Don’t cheap out on the Harem tickets as this is the most photogenic part of the museum. No tripods are allowed inside the complex.
3. The Colourful Houses of Balat
Historically home to Istanbul’s Greek Orthodox and Jewish neighborhoods, Balat has recently become one of the city’s most popular Instagram locations thanks to its dilapidated-yet-colourful old houses and hidden churches that line its hilly streets.
These historic wooden homes are over 200-years-old in some cases and are amongst the most photographed buildings in the city. Due to the neighbourhood’s recent popularity, it is quickly becoming gentrified with a host of cool cafes and boutiques lining the few narrow lanes closest to the waterfront. It’s easy to while away a whole afternoon or even day here, wandering between cafes and photographing the cute streets and murals that have appeared here over the last few years.
The district fairly hidden, away from most of the city’s main tourist sights, on the shores of Eminönü along the Golden Horn. The best way to reach it is by taking the bus from Eminönü along the coastal road. The colourful houses can be found on Kiremit street.
4. Pamukkale
Undoubtedly one of the most Instagrammable spots in Turkey, Pammukkale is a photographers dream. Although warning it’s not like you see it in the promo posters! Most of the pools are dry.
Nonetheless the thermal pools that are there make for some beautiful shots at sunrise or sunset (though sunset means crowds).
There are now only a few pools with water in that you can walk beside or take a dip in and you’ll find the lower pools less busy than the upper.
5. Sultan Cave Suites
Of all the Instagrammable places in Cappadocia, this is the most commonly photographed.
Apparently, the whole trend of eating ‘breakfast’ at this place while watching the balloons was started, who requested they move the cushions and breakfast area over by the balcony for photos… and that trend caught on like wildfire, with several Cappadocia hotels now doing the same!
However, if you think you’re about to eat your breakfast there, think again: that little table set up is just a prop, not an actual breakfast, and Instagrammers take turns (sometimes kindly, sometimes cattily!) getting their shots here. If you’re an avid Instagrammer, you’ll understand and even love this set up…. if you’re a less photo-hungry traveler, you may find it a bit of an odd set up.
6. Oludeniz
It will be best to shoot Oludeniz(Ölüdeniz) from above as the landscape will not be quite clear from the ground. To make this possible, there is a very entertaining way that is called paragliding. Agencies organize rides every day with necessary precautions and pilot guides accompany people during their flight. Till landing on the beach, you will find the opportunity to shoot the best of Oludeniz. 7. Cappadocia
Out of argument, Cappadocia, known as the land of the beautiful horses, is the very best place that you must not miss shooting if you are one of the Instagrammers. The region is famous for its authenticity. Nature has converted the territory to an artificial plateau where many movies took place. Breathtaking valleys and labyrinth-shaped underground cities obviously deserve attention for the ones who love photography and sharing. We heavily suggest you take a balloon ride to post the most memorable moments that are spent in Cappadocia to share photos on Instagram. The fairy chimneys will provide a postcard image from your basket during the balloon flight.
